Dad
He could walk forever
He taught me trigonometry
He smelled of creosote a lot
and sometimes of sawdust and chainsaws
He played the recorder
He played guitar
He played accordion once at New Year's Eve
He didn't understand cows
He could fix tractors though, and make rocking horses
He built two houses
He'd fall asleep on his crossed arms after lunch
One winter he fell asleep with his feet up in front of the fire
He hugged Mum in the kitchen
He had a big smile
He planted trees
And he loved us.
